Suture Clinic

The Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) Suture Clinic is an exciting and educational event as veterinarians and fourth-year veterinary students come together to teach undergraduate students a variety of suture techniques. Because each session has between five and ten instructors and maximum of 25 instructees, students have the opportunity to gain valuable one-on-one experience.

At this clinic, due-paying members learn and practice several different sutures and sterile techniques veterinarians utilize everyday. For example, a variety of suture materials, strand grades, needle features, and techniques, including simple and continuous, are used to help students develop a well-rounded understanding of suturing.
